Accounts Tab
Use this tab to view accounts that are created on endpoint systems. This tab includes the following fields:
- Account Name--Displays the login name, email name, or other name for the endpoint account.
- Endpoint Type--Displays the type of endpoint to be managed, such as an LDAP directory.
- Container--Displays the LDAP container, if one is used, where the account exists. For example, the container ou=People indicates the account exists in the People container.
- Endpoint--Displays the endpoint to be managed.
- Suspended Status--Shows if an administrator has enabled or disabled the endpoint account.
- Locked Status--Shows if the account is locked. Locking occurs automatically when a user makes several attempts to log into the account with the wrong password.
- Source--Indicates how the account was associated with the user. Accounts are associated with users as follows:
- The user receives a provisioning role that contains an account template which creates an endpoint account
- An administrator associates the user with an endpoint account in Provisioning Manager
- The account is created in the endpoint and then explicitly associated with the user in the Provisioning Manager
- Show Action Summary provides these actions on the selected accounts:
- Get Status--Retrieves additional attributes, such as the suspended and locked status of the account, and the status of change password operations.
- Suspend--Disables an account.
- Resume--Enables an account after an administrator has suspended it.
- Unlock--Unlocks an account after it has been locked due to a violation of a password policy, such as exceeding the number of acceptable failed login attempts.
- Change Password--Provides the option to change the password.
When you click this button, you are prompted to supply an old and new password. The new password you enter is validated against applicable Identity Manager password policies.
- Assign--Associates an account with a user.
- Unassign--Removes the association of the account with a user.
- Delete--Deletes the endpoint account.
An account can also be deleted if you remove a provisioning role from the user. However, if you select Synchronize User with Roles in Provisioning Manager, the account is recreated.
