Storage

Specify how the question and answer data is stored in a user's profile, as follows:

Depending on your selection for storage (multi-valued, single value, or separate attributes), you have to define the physical and logical attributes in the appropriate fields.

Multi-valued Attribute Storage

• Physical Attributes--Select a single multi-valued attribute from the list.
• Logical Attributes--Logical attributes used for management of questions and answers for a multi-valued attribute, as follows:

  Field	Description
  Number of questions	The number of questions and answers that you want users to enter on their profile. The number of questions and answers should be equal to or greater than the number of questions you want them to actually answer when verifying their identity.
  Name for question logical attributes	The name for the logical attribute question.
  Name for answer logical attributes	The name for the logical attribute answer.

 After filling in the fields, click Generate Attributes to produce the logical attributes based on the number and names and you provided. When generating the logical attributes, Identity Manager automatically adds vertical bars ( | ) and a number qualifier to give each attribute a unique name.

Note: After generating these attributes, you can modify the names if necessary.

Single Value Attribute Storage

• Physical Attributes--Physical attributes used for storing questions and answers, as follows:

  Field	Description
  Number of questions	The number of questions for the physical attribute.
  Pattern for question physical attribute	The pattern you assign to a question physical attribute. Select a pattern and a user profile attribute number to start at. This field only appears if the user directory has more than one attribute on the user profile that are the same except for a particular number. Identity Manager checks the user attributes in the directory and searches for a pattern. You can use this field to automatically map the question and answer pair to physical attributes. If this field does not appear, you still have to manually select a physical attribute for each question and answer pair that appear after you click Generate Attributes.
  Name for question logical attributes	The name for the logical attribute question.
  Name for answer logical attributes	The name for the logical attribute answer.
